Ann Ravel spoke before the International Congress of the Sub-Commission on Latin America of the Venice Commission 2018, hosted in Mexico City. The Congress gathered respected experts from electoral justice institutions from the Americas and Europe to discuss the guarantees of democratic processes, international standards, and constitutional principles of the democracies of the world. Ann discussed changes in the shape of democracy in the United States since the 2016 Presidential election, as well as what the results of the most recent mid-term elections may mean for our democracy’s future.
