Latina Power Hour: Mentorship Matters

Maya Younes was a panelist at an event hosted by The Latina Coalition, which featured Latina leaders who have extensive experience mentoring and being mentored. Many of the panelists, well versed in what it takes to secure a mentor and to cultivate relationships, identify as first generation and many of them are firsts in their family for many of life's experiences. They spoke of how mentoring helps them to empower other women to achieve their fullest potential. This panel was cosponsored by La Raza Lawyers Association of Santa Clara County, and in addition to Maya featured Teresa Alvarado, Chief of Local Impact, SPUR & Founder of LCSV; Sylvia Perez MacDonald , Director, County of Santa Clara, Independent Defense Counsel Office; Alejandra Ayala, Candidate specialist, Google via Nelson Staffing & Founder & CEO, Pente Tech; Jessica De Anda, Student Experience Specialist at University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business; and Leslie Cervantes, Founder & CEO, Inspiring Latinas.  Gabriela Chavez-Lopez, President, Latina Coalition of Silicon Valley, served as moderator.
