McManis Faulkner associate Andrew Parkhurst is spending 10 weeks at the U.S. Navy Judge Advocate General’s Corps (JAG) Naval Justice School (NJS) at Naval Station Newport, Rhode Island.
The NJS provides legal training in operational law, legal services, and court proceedings administered under the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ) for all active and reserve lawyers in the Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard. In addition, the NJS provides training for civilian personnel, sea service commanders, legal officers, senior enlisted legal professionals and others in the administration of military law.
Before attending NJS, Andrew served in the U.S. Navy on active duty from 2010-2015, as a Lieutenant in the Civil Engineer Corps building the Navy’s on-base infrastructure and supporting expeditionary operations abroad. Andrew completed three tours of duty, providing humanitarian aid and supporting major combat missions in southwest Asia, Japan, and South Korea.
Congratulations, Andrew. We thank you for your service!
