Earlier in her career, Taylor worked as a Victim Witness Advocate for the District Attorney in Canton, Georgia, informing crime victims and witnesses of their rights so they might receive the assistance and protection to which they are entitled under the law. She was a part of the Domestic Violence and Special Victims Unit.
