LSI Annual Conference; Federal Appellate Process Workshop Presented by Marwa Elzankaly

Marwa Elzankaly conducted a seminar covering the federal appellate process from beginning to end, both procedural and substantive issues related to any federal appeal.  Topics included: noticing appeals and cross-appeals; the appellate record; appellate briefing; oral argument; appellate motions and submissions; judicial decisions and en banc rehearing; petitions for writ of certiarori; and remand to the district court.  The seminar focused on the processes and procedures of the Ninth Circuit, and included a discussion of tools available to research and determine applicable rules in other circuits.
