Of Counsel Marwa Elzankaly moderated a panel titled “Overcoming Ally Pitfalls: Addressing Macroaggressions and Bias from Allies” at the Annual Business Conference for the 2021 California Minority Counsel Program (CMCP). She was joined by Jennifer Martinez (Hanson Bridgett), Arezoo Rishi (Autodesk), and George Schell (Presidio Trust) for an open dialogue on how to identify and address microaggressions, whether from coworkers, opposing counsel, or others. They also discussed how to deal with allies who have good intentions, but cause harmful impact. The program qualified for 1 hour CA MCLE credit for recognition and elimination of bias credit. Elzankaly also served as a member of the planning committee for the business conference.
