The San Jose Museum of Art (SJMA) is celebrating the first-ever solo museum presentation of the work of Bay Area artist and Chicano civil rights activist, Yolanda López. The exhibition, “Yolanda López: Portrait of the Artist,” will display fifty works in oil pastel, paint, charcoal, collage, and photography across López’s five decades of art — with some pieces dating back to the 1970s and 80s. Contributions from McManis Faulkner support museum efforts to bring exhibitions like this to our community.
The exhibit will remain on display until Sunday, October 29, 2023.
