Partner James McManis was quoted in the San Jose Mercury News regarding his involvement in allowing the voters to decide Measure A which transfers the power over the county jails to the sheriff to reduce costs. The measure only came to a vote after McManis sued the board of supervisors almost two years ago to force them to follow the county charter and have the voters decide the issue.
