McManis Faulkner Sponsors Momentum for Mental Health Photojournalism Exhibit

June 27, 2017 McManis Faulkner

McManis Faulkner is a proud sponsor of the “A Day in the Life of Recovery,” a traveling photojournalism exhibit provided by Momentum for Mental Health. “A Day in the Life of Recovery” tells the stories of real people who have been diagnosed with a mental illness or a substance use disorder, gone through tough times, yet have come out the other side stronger than ever. The individuals profiled are tough, resilient, and so much more than their diagnosis.

Hosted in the firm’s lobby until July 30, the exhibit aims to bring mental illness and substance use out of the shadows and create a campaign that paints these characteristics as everyday challenges along the spectrum of the human condition.  At the same time, Momentum for Mental Health looks to encourage frank conversation about mental health wellness and recovery, as well as to educate the community about Momentum’s programs.

Momentum is the largest private nonprofit provider of adult mental health services in Santa Clara County. Its program and services for individuals living with a mental illness are comprehensive and include a prevention and early intervention program, adult and transitional age youth (14 to 24) out-patient services, employment services, day rehabilitation services, residential treatment, supported housing and a volunteer program. In addition, Momentum works to reduce and eliminate the stigma that surrounds mental illness and mental health care through a community relations program that promotes education, diversity and collaboration.
