The Silicon Valley Admin Awards has named Jyl Savard and Elena Schneider as finalists in three award categories.
The Admin Awards, founded in 2012, is a unique program that publicly recognizes the invaluable contributions of Administrative Professionals. Silicon Valley administrative professionals compete in various award categories, which are reviewed and evaluated by an independent panel of judges that selects the finalists and, ultimately, the winners in each category.
With 25 years at McManis Faulkner, Savard is a finalist for the Loyalty Award, presented to the administrative professional with a long history of effective service.
Schneider is a finalist for the Leadership Award, which recognizes an administrative professional who best demonstrates multiple leadership qualities and a passion for helping fellow employees. She was also personally selected by Colleen Barrett as a candidate for the Colleen Barrett Award for Admin Excellence, The Admin Awards’ most prestigious honor. This award celebrates the professional who best embodies the “spirit” and proficiency of one of the most admired (former) administrators, Barrett, who is President Emeritus of Southwest Airlines and, over the course of her five-decade career, rose from legal secretary to President and COO.
Savard began her career at the firm in 1993. She leads the firm’s financial team and is responsible for supervising a variety of administrative, accounting, and bookkeeping duties, as well as managing the accounts payable team. In addition, Savard, whose skills set also extends to graphic design, maintains the firm’s brand identity, making sure that the graphic standards are not compromised.
Schneider has been with McManis Faulkner for nearly 20 years, serving as a civil litigation legal assistant working on high profile litigation matters in federal, state, and appellate courts. She is a long-time member of the Santa Clara County Legal Professionals Association and currently serves on its executive board as parliamentarian. Schneider is also a Notary Public and member of the National Notary Association. In addition, she is a California Certified Legal Secretary.
