The Silicon Valley Admin Awards has named Manuel Carvajal and Sarah Waymire as finalists in two award categories.
Established in 2012, the Admin Awards is a unique program that publicly recognizes the invaluable contributions of Administrative Professionals. Silicon Valley administrative professionals compete in various award categories, which are reviewed and evaluated by an independent panel of judges that selects the finalists and, ultimately, the winners in each category.
Carvajal is a finalist for the Office Manager Award, which recognizes an administrative professional who handles a wide range of responsibilities in the workplace, including administrative support and facilities management, among other duties.
Waymire has been selected for the Colleen Barrett Award for Administrative Excellence, the Admin Awards’ most prestigious honor. This award is presented to the administrative professional who best demonstrates the qualities that enabled Barrett to rise from legal secretary to President Emeritus and Chief Operating Officer of Southwest Airlines.
Carvajal has been with McManis Faulkner for more than 13 years. As a litigation paralegal, he provides technical support before and during trial and assists attorneys and legal assistants with research and document production. Carvajal also oversees the day-to-day operations of the firm’s records center and the training of records assistants.
Waymire began her career with McManis Faulkner two decades ago. She manages the firm’s training programs, assessing current software programs and providing the firm with the education needed to utilize each program fully. Waymire works with both attorneys and support staff to develop programming that encourages optimal use of the firm’s technology. In addition, she leverages her strong social and organizational skills to coordinate special events held at the firm.
