Michael Warren spoke with The Recorder following the passage of California Assembly Bill 5. The bill would codify the worker-friendly Dynamex ABC test to determine employee classification. In his comments, Michael suggests that now is the time for in-house counsel who are concerned about the bill’s impact on their business to lobby their lawmakers before final passage of the law. Additionally, he says in-house counsel should, if possible, start changing aspects of their independent contractor arrangements to fit more clearly within the ABC test.
