McManis Faulkner congratulates partner Elizabeth Pipkin for her naming to the “Top Women Lawyers” list by the Daily Journal, California’s largest legal newspaper. The list recognizes women lawyers in California who have made a difference to their clients, their firms and the legal profession. This marks Pipkin’s second appearance on the list; she was first selected in 2015.
In its coverage of the honor, the Daily Journal called Pipkin a “veteran litigator” and detailed her trial prowess. The profile describes Pipkin’s role as lead trial counsel defending Dr. Rahinah Ibrahim in the first successful challenge to the placement of an individual on the No-Fly list. The Daily Journal also covers Pipkin’s recent defense of RiverPay in a trade secrets matter, where she secured favorable verdicts for the defendants at far less than what the plaintiffs had demanded to settle. Regarding her trade secrets work, she says, “Trade secrets cases can be difficult. There are many technical concepts that are not familiar to jurors.”
Leading McManis Faulkner’s civil trial team, Pipkin represents Fortune 500 companies, closely held businesses, charitable institutions and individuals in a wide range of disputes, including those involving trade secrets, complex commercial issues, and civil rights matters. She serves as president of Board of Trustees for the Silicon Valley Law Foundation, overseeing the organization’s various social justice initiatives in the community. Pipkin recently co-chaired the Northern District of California Lawyer Representatives Committee, and she is a member of the Executive Committee of the Harvard Law School Association of Northern California. Pipkin received her J.D. from Harvard Law School (2001) and her B.A. from Brigham Young University (1998).
