Michael Warren Named an Employment Law Trailblazer

McManis Faulkner congratulates partner Michael Warren who was named to The National Law Journal’s “Employment Law Trailblazers” list. The National Law Journal is a leading legal industry publication and part of the Law.com/ALM (American Lawyer Media) family.

The National Law Journal’s “Employment Law Trailblazers” award recognizes attorneys nationwide who have made significant marks on the practice, policy and technological advancement of employment law.

In its reporting of the honor, the National Law Journal covered Warren’s specialty practice representing high-level executives in workplace investigations and negotiating contracts and severance packages. He was specifically recognized for his work representing a partner at a venture capital firm who was accused of inappropriate behavior and threatened with termination.  Showing that the partner was unfairly targeted by the claims, Michael preserved his employment.

“As the #MeToo movement has taken hold, there is less hesitancy to take action against accused individuals. There is a lot at stake in these types of cases involving money, reputations and careers,” Warren says in the profile.

An experienced trial lawyer and leader of the firm’s Employment Law practice group, Warren is a trusted advocate and advisor for employers on a variety of issues, including discrimination, wage and hour, harassment, disability accommodation, workplace investigations and class actions. He is also regularly called to represent and defend high-level executives in employment contract negotiations and disputes. Warren is a member of the American Bar Association and State Bar of California Labor and Employment Law sections, and he serves on the board of directors for Family Supportive Housing, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing shelter and supportive services to homeless families in Santa Clara County. He earned his J.D. from Santa Clara University School of Law (2002) and his B.A. from the University of California, Irvine (1998).
