McManis Faulkner’s Elizabeth Pipkin Receives Third Daily Journal’s “Top Women Lawyers” Recognition

Elizabeth Pipkin - Top Women Lawyers 2023

McManis Faulkner congratulates partner Elizabeth Pipkin for being named to the “Top Women Lawyers” list by the Daily Journal, California’s largest legal newspaper. The list recognizes women lawyers in California who have made a difference to their clients, their firms and the legal profession. This marks Pipkin’s third appearance on the list; she was previously selected in 2015 and 2020.

In its coverage of the honor, the Daily Journal called Pipkin “one of the premier go-to lawyers” for high-stakes legal matters. The profile discusses a recent class action technology case – one that had been ongoing since 2015 – and her successful efforts to decertify the class. In response to one question about technological advancements in the profession, Pipkin says, “The practice of law, in some ways, is now the practice of technology. … It is important that as lawyers, and especially women lawyers, we are well versed in technology…”

Pipkin represents companies and individuals in a wide range of disputes, including those involving technology, trade secrets, complex commercial issues and civil rights matters. In addition, she leads McManis Faulkner’s civil trial team and serves as the firm’s managing partner. She is the past president of the Board of Trustees for the Silicon Valley Law Foundation, overseeing the organization’s various social justice initiatives in the community. Pipkin recently co-chaired the Northern District of California Lawyer Representatives Committee, and she is a member of the Executive Committee of the Harvard Law School Association of Northern California. Pipkin received her J.D. from Harvard Law School (2001) and her B.A. from Brigham Young University (1998).
