McManis Faulkner partner Abimael “A.J.” Bastida has been appointed to the Executive Committee for the Federal Bar Association’s (FBA) Northern District of California (NDCA) Chapter.
Founded in 1920, the FBA is dedicated to promoting the welfare, interests, education, and professional development of attorneys involved in federal law. The Northern District of California Chapter is one of the FBA’s more active chapters nationwide, committed to serving the needs of federal practitioners, judges, courts, and the Northern California legal community. Bastida is one of 28 legal professionals serving on the Northern District Chapter Executive Committee.
Bastida has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in business, criminal and employment-related disputes. He also has experience with civil rights, probate and trust litigation, and with representing high-level executives in white-collar matters. Bastida is a member of the Santa Clara County Bar Association, the Santa Clara County La Raza Lawyers Association and the William A. Ingram Inn of Court. He has been named to the Best Lawyers in America, Ones to Watch list since 2023, and he was recently selected by both the Daily Journal and the Silicon Valley Business Journal as a “40 Under 40” honoree. In 2024, Bastida was named a fellow with the Litigation Counsel of America. He earned his J.D. (2014), with a High Tech Law Certificate, and his B.S. in Engineering (2011) from Santa Clara University.
